Gforce aims to be your Huckleberry

Gforce aims to be your Huckleberry
Lever-Action and affordable usually never go together in the same sentence. Especially in the post pandemic era it seems like lever-action prices are just inflated, with centerfire models averaging in the $1000.00 dollar range or more! Furthermore inflating prices is the lack of inventory from U.S. Based companies like Henry and Marlin. What if I told you that GFORCE arms and their partner Huğtek Arms aims to challenge the market.

Who’s that stranger entering town in the dusty sunlight? The Huckleberry lever-action with its timeless classic lines that meets modern manufacturing. The funny thing is that I just wrote about Sig Sauer’s new Regulator rifle that is being marketed towards “Ranchers” at a cool MSRP of $3,279.99! In all honesty more “Ranchers” are going to find that the Huckleberry lever-action with it’s very affordable MSRP of $577.99 more in tune with what they need in a throw around rifle.

Based on the Winchester Model 94 with some update modifications, this 357 mangun/38special lever action is for sure to be on the wishlist for countless cowpoke and cowboy wanna be’s. The lever action was the original assault rifle of the wild west, known for being sleek and unobtrusive with devastating capacity of repeated firepower. The Huckleberry is the result of three years of development by Huğtek Arms that adapted the design to use a lightweight aluminum receiver with internal rails and heat treatments for an ice slick smooth action.

Are lever actions still relevant?
GFORCE is advertising the Huckleberry with the trifecta approach, sure this is a great “ranch” rifle, but with it’s lightweight is perfect for the hunter. Adding that the shorter length of pull and smooth action will also appeal to those just looking for a fun shooting experience. In the future Huğtek Arms and GFORCE plan to release a whole slew of lever-action rifles, from ultra tacticool with skeleton stocks, threaded barrels, m-lok and picatinny attachment points. All the way to ultra affordable lightweight models with polymer furniture in the under $400.00 range! With all of those options there will be something for everyone.

The great thing about lever-actions is that we have to ask if they still are relevant. Think about it have you ever seen the anti-2A crowd ever say they want to ban “outdated” lever-actions? No they want to ban assault rifles because they look evil. Trust me a competent shooter with a lever-action can take care of business, and with 357magnum those that mean you harm don’t stand a chance. I may get some flack for this but a 10 plus capacity should be able to take care of any legally justified self defense situation. Notice I said legally justified, good luck trying to explain to the DA why you laid down 4 mags of suppressive fire across lawn.

At 5.5 pounds, the Huckleberry can easily be handled buy any adult shooter all the way down to pre-teens. With the shorter length of pull at 13.75 inches almost anyone of any stature should be able to comfortably shoot a Huckleberry. To put it in perspective usually 12 inch or under length of pull on a shotgun is considered a women’s or youth stock.

The Huckleberry’s best traits
One drawback of most lever-actions, is in the action it self and the levers. Usually these levers are hard pieces of metal with sharp edges. As you work the action you feel the mechanism working and you have places that just rub the shit out of your hands to no end. Huğtek Arms spent plenty of time perfecting a smooth action and then went an extra step by including a leather wrap on the action lever. This speaks the load on your fingers and the result is no shop edges. I love the rubber butt pad that’s not too obvious as to ruin the classic lines, but locks into you your shoulders. Speaking of the classic lines of the model 94, the Huckleberry originating from Turkiye you expect it to have the best Turkish Walnut furniture, Huğtek Arms delivers.
